This delicious gammon comes from one of our Heritage Breed Free-Range pigs and has been traditionally cured.

A gammon joint is ideal for a special occasion.  We bone out the gammon and roll it for you, making carving an easy job!

A whole gammon normally weighs around 4.5kg - 5kg and can feed up to twenty people.  If you're looking for something smaller, a half gammon is around 2.2kg - 2.8kg.

Cooking suggestions:

  • Place your gammon in a large saucepan and cover with water.  Add a bay leaf or two and perhaps, some peppercorns.
  • Bring to the boil, then change the water to fresh cold water and bring to the boil again.  Leave to simmer until nearly cooked (about an hour for the half and two for the whole).
  • Remove from the water and cut off the skin leaving the fat in place.  Then add a marinade of your choice  (ie honey, mustard, brown sugar, marmalade etc) and then place in a hot oven until cooked.

Rest for half an hour then carve and enjoy!

Once cooked, the ham will last for a week or two in your fridge (if you can resist it that long!). Great value and delicious.
